Robert Murphy

Senior Minister

Robert Murphy joined us as our minister in February, 2026. Robert was born and raised in Mt. Sterling KY, where his father has been serving as a minister for 33 years. Robert earned his B.A. in Bible from FHU in 2017 and his M.Div from FHU in 2020 as he was working full-time as a minister in Missouri.

In 2020, Robert started his PhD at Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati. During that time, he worked for nearly five years as an associate minister. In the Spring of 2024, Robert graduated with his Master of Philosophy from Hebrew Union College. Currently, he is writing his dissertation on The Contemplation of the Cosmos in Philo of Alexandria and His Influence on Clement and Origen. He also teaches courses for Amridge University as an adjunct instructor.

He and his wife Rachel, share their home with their beautiful 2-year-old daughter, Sophia, and their endearing dog, Penny. In addition to his work as a student, scholar, and minister, Robert enjoys spending time with his family and congregation, weight lifting, running, and hiking.
